"I discovered the locals were both illiterate and jobless. When I asked what I could do to help them, they answered that they wanted a place to be educated and learn a trade. So that’s what I gave them – starting with the Youth Village(Hameau des jeunes saint kizito) founded in 1978 and progressed to an Ordinary level(Ecole secondaire saint kizito) in 2002 which later became separate vocational high school in 2009".
